Hello,

I have two diamonds to choose from:

D1: 1.04/F/VS2 AGS Ideal [ Table:56.2, Depth 60.5, Crown 34.4, Pavilion 40.7] HCA 0.9

D2: 1.05/F/VS2 GIA Ideal [ Table:56, Depth 61.5 , Crown 34.5, Pavilion 40.6] HCA 0.7

During visual inspection D2 showed ideal hearts and arrows picture, while D1 had good internal arrows picture, outside arrows were little bit smooshed.
So, D2 looks a little better.

However, D2 has much bigger "crystal" almost in the middle of the table.
D1 has couple tiny inclusions barely noticable even with the loupe.

Can''t decide which one to pick.

Both these diamonds have terrific proportions - go with the one that looks best to you! Either are great choices! Trust your eyes here, pick the one that " speaks" to you the most. As to the inclusions, take that into account also, see if you can look at each diamond out of jewellers store lighting and see which one looks best, might be the deciding factor.

Good luck!

That''s the problem - they both look great, D2 looks little better, however you can see the "crystal/cloud" right in the middle of the table.

I my fiance decides to upgrade at some point i want to know which stone has a better resale value.

Really no diamond has a good resale value except in certain circumstances, often you are lucky if you can get 50% back on what you paid. This is the harsh truth unfortunately. If you plan to upgrade in the future, the best thing would be to go with a vendor who has a lifetime trade up policy, this way you get most - if not all - of the price you paid towards another diamond.

I think if you want to buy either of these diamonds, it seems that the crystal in the table might be an issue for you, so it might be best to go with the other, but it sounds as if you prefer the look of the one with the crystal. Could you maybe look at some others so you can compare? Don't settle, wait for one that has everything you want. Are you absolutely set on a D ?

I am confused because the measurements you gave for D2 are not what is on the cert for D2.

ETA: Maybe not...it's hard to tell if they are 6's or 8's. I think the pavilion angle is 40.8.

I think it is a typo with the table percentage '' Seeks.

They both look quite nice. Sounds like the crystal in the table of D2 is visible to your naked eye (it might drive you crazy, knowing it''s there), so perhaps go for D1.

I decided to go with D1: 1.04/F/VS2 AGS Ideal diamond.

In D2 "Crystal" was not''s not visible to the eye,
however once you get a loupe it''s staring at you from the table ;-)!!!

Having slight OCD I realized that she probably will never know about this but it will bother the hell out of me.
(The fact that I gave her the stone that has ALMOST ''visible'' flaw!!!)

So, I hope this will conclude my diamond search.

I checked original and it''s 6 not 8. Even with 8 it gives 1.4 on HCA.

personally, for me, if you can''t see it to the naked eye, that is fine.

go for something that gives you peace. :) that''s what is most important, both looked like nice stones.
