We''ve ordered this one and have it now:

It''s gorgeous

but I''m wondering if it''s really worth the tradeoff in size to go for the G color and VVS1 clarity? I know asschers really have to be seen in person to be judged, but what are the odds of my finding, say, an H VS1 that is just as brilliant and beautiful as this one? Obviously, cut is very important and I''d stay with a very good or ideal cut-- I''m just wondering how much the clarity and color variables affect the overall appearance, on average. I don''t have time to look at lots of diamonds

, so although I''m hoping you guys can provide some perspective.

Would most of you choose this diamond over the one above, or vice versa? I know symmetry and cut are important, but how important is polish? The one above is very sparkly and brilliant but the polish is rated only good...

Thanks!

If you find a good looking asscher keep it.
Good ones are rare.
Check the pattern and crown height.
Nice pattern? high crown?
keep it.
