Help with an Antique Cushion choice please!

Hi Everyone!,

So I recently received a 2.11 ct. AVC from Good Old Gold. I love the cut and brilliance, but I am starting to second guess the color. I do like warmer stones, but this one shows quite a bit of yellow. I have been in contact with Adam at Old World Diamonds, and have found a similar stone and I can't decide between them! Please Help!!

I am probably the one with least experience on this forum for Anique diamonds but I can tell you that I am searching bu myslef in the 2 carat range but in a higher color grade than you are looking at.

For me this is a NO BRAINER, return the stone and straight go and buy the GOW stone. That stone looks more white to me (but that is important for me) and have you seen the face up area that the GOW stone is producing.... Measure: 8.48*8.27 that is like 70 Square mm that is like a MONSTAR... that stone in a HALO setting will look like a much larger stone!

You could have Adam ship his stone to you and then you can compare it to the AVC. He offers free shipping both ways.

I thought about that. I dont know if Adam requires payment in full to ship the stone thought... I spent most of my funds on the AVC (oops!)

I am an AVC/R lady through and through, but I actually love the look of the OWD 2.2K. The fact that it faces up significantly larger and is higher in clarity might make me go with that one. But I own an AVC and absolutely adore it. I love how perfect the faceting is and the light performance can't be beat...

Thanks for the comments. I worry that since the OWD stone is a K but has an EGL cert, it is really like an M/N and wont be that much different in color than the O (with the AGS cert). Aslo, I question whether I will lose the brilliance that the AVC diamond has if the cut on the other stone isn't as great for light performance?
