Hi all,
First off I wanted to thank pricescope for having such a helpfull site. Even though this is my first post I have read and learned alot already.
Anyways,....
I found an e-ring from abazias that i really think would be wonderfull for my girl. However, I''m alittle nervouse about not having a return policy on the ring. Unlike the diamonds they sell which you have a 10 day return policy, the e-rings are considered custom made and can''t be returned or exchanged. So I wanted to know what everybodys thoughts are. Should I get the e-ring from them or look locally (Scottsdale AZ, tons of jewelry shops)? I''m pretty sure that I will be getting the diamond from them or possibly bluenile, whiteflash. Thanks for the help...

Welcome!

Firstly is there a stock setting with any of the vendors such as Abazias, Whiteflash, Good old Gold, High Performance Diamonds, James Allen etc that you like? It might be worth checking out these vendors to see what they have available and their terms and conditions.

If you mean one of their "stock" settings (already made), no, I wouldn't go with them. I think most vendors will take back/exchange a stock setting (someone correct me if I'm wrong), none will take a custom. But a true custom setting is one you design, not one already made.

Thats what I was wondering....

The ring in question (http://www.abazias.com/database/NewEngagementInfo.asp?stock=ENG-SS-99-10410) does have a stock #ENG-SS-99-10410. I also thought that it seemed wierd since they aren''t actually creating a new style, thats what made me think twice about abazias. Katie (the sales associate) told me that the rings are considered custom and couldn''t be returned or exchanged only the diamonds hold a 10 day. Have any of you heard that before from abazias, cuz maybe she''s new and didn''t understand there policy or I should probably look elsewhere.

Also, sorry for the delay on responding back...

Hi--the item in your link does not show. They won''t accept returns on a stock setting within 10 days? I''ve never worked with Abazias, so I''m unfamiliar with their policies. You could call back and ask a different rep. I''d also definitely call other vendors.

Here is the item... I think my ()''s around it last time messed it up.

I just sent an email to Katie reconfirming this whole thing so that i have it in writing and not over a phone conversation... So, when i get the reply ill let all know.

This is the response i received from my email yesterday...
"The setting (and band) are considered custom because they are made from scratch once a customer places the order. The engagement ring setting is also modified to fit the measurements and shape of your specific center diamond and cast to exact finger size. The settings are not in stock and have to be made to order---this is why they take 5-7 business days."

I just don''t like the idea of not being able to return something that i haven''t actually seen with my own eyes...

Then I would suggest reading the terms and conditions of some of the other vendors and working with one you feel comfortable with.

I would call other vendors and see what their return policy is on settings already in stock. I know your hesitation..it''s hard not seeing what you are buying. For what it''s worth...I had White flash custom make my e-ring and also bought my stone from them. They also are working on another project for me. They are very trustworthy and reliable. GL
