I am currently shopping for a radiant cut with a height/width ratio of 1.2-1.3 with a carat weight of ~2.5 carats. I am pretty much set on the color (E-G) and clarity (VS1-VS2), but am having a lot of trouble assesing the cut. Quite frankly, I''ve been shown stones by several different brokers that have table %, crown height % and depth % that are all over the place. I''ve done some reading on the site (very helpful) and found the AGA cut class table for a radiant cut, but I am still having some trouble with it (I am very new at this . . .). For each of (i) table %, (ii) crown height % and (iii) depth % there are two rows with different ranges of data. Why is this, or more importantly, how do I read this? Is the top row for smaller stones and the bottom for larger? If so, what is the breakpoint? For a stone of 1.2-1.3 H/W what should I be looking for? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

I think you can picture it like a pyramid. 1A is the best so the next level, 1B has the next best, which would be either side of 1A, both lower and higher precentages. 2A follows 1B, so it has grades for bothe slightly above and slighty below the 1B percentages, and is twice removed from 1A...and so on. Does that make sense?
