I am a newbie to the diamond-buying game, and was hoping for some advice from somebody in-the-know. Can anybody suggest where I might find a Tiffany style setting for a marquise cut diamond. My girlfriend loves the marquise, but it seems that it is a difficult shape to set properly. Almost all of the settings I''ve looked so far have prongs that don''t fit the shape of the diamond or have chevrons that are too big and draw attention from the diamond itself. The only setting that I''ve really liked so far is the Tiffany setting (my girlfriend like simple and classic looks), but I have my own diamond already (inherited from my grandmother) so Tiffany''s is out.
After reading some of the posts here, I''m beginning to think that the internet is my best bet, but I don''t know where to begin. Alternatively, if anyone knows some good jewelers in Toronto, I am open to suggestions.
As a final request, my girlfriend fell in love with a ring that she saw which was a marquise center diamond with trilliant side stones. If anybody has pictures of anything like that which I could take to a jeweler, it would be much appreciated!
I hope to propose in a few weeks and feel like time is ticking by fast. Thanks for any help that comes my way!!
