I think I''ve decided on a Memoire setting and band. I love the design of these rings and I''ve gone to Pearlman''s for a price.
I received a price locally yesterday. I felt the 5 stone designs are so much more comfortable for me. I selected the 15pt size since this size doesn''t take away from the center stone. The rings will cost about $6000. It was the first time I was excited about this whole process.
But, I''m still stuggling over the center stone.
Some here have read about my agonizing " buyers remorse" over my center stone selection. That is posted elsewhere on the forum.
I''m still trying to convince myself that I''ll be happy with my choice in the end.
After crunching the numbers, I have an idea and was wondering what you ladies think...
If I could reduce the price of the mounting/band, perhaps I could upgrade my center stone.
You know a kind of "rob from Peter to pay Paul" thing.
What if I only purchased a 5 stone mounting and no band, but used larger size accent stones (25 pt or 30 pt) so the ring could stand alone. Would that look o.k.? Bailey Banks & Biddle had this ring and I tried it on and my daughter and I thought it didn''t need a wedding band. It was fine on its own. But I don''t know if we''re right about that.
You may say why not just do a three stone but although nice I don''t think it''s for me.
This is an upgrade ring. I''ve been married 25 years. Do I have to have a band?
What would be your vote:
1. Matching Memoire 5 stone set with 15pt accent stones, or
2. Single 5 stone, 25 or 30 pt accent stones and no wedding band.
Am I making any sense?
I know I''m acting so nuts about this but who better to ask than the saavy folks on this forum.
Thanks
