Hello,

I am struggling between two Tacori pieces that my bride to be and I have been looking at. One is 2616 on www.tacori.com and the other is 2503. One has a lot of pave and we both really like it, but we are worried that it will go out of style and that in five years she might wish she had a simpler solitaire or the 2503. Can you give me your thoughts as far as the 2616 being in style in 5 years? Thank you thank you thank you so much.

I like 2616 better, and think it is a timeless design!

I think both styles are classic and elegant - and I don''t think either or them will ever go out of style. :)

I like a lot of detail, but I''m 25 years down the road from the beginning.

I would think it might be a good idea to go with the simpler looking one if she''s already worried about 5 years from now. She should also be considering what wedding band she likes best, as a lot of us end up wearing that even more than the e-ring. With a simpler setting, she could wear different bands, or a wedding band and then an anniversary band down the road maybe. Lots of options to consider. Tacori makes beautiful settings, and both are gorgeous choices IMO.

Ditto, Lyra. I love the antique look, and they''ll ALWAYS be in style, but they may be more trendy now than they will be in 20 years. For example - both my gmas have antique-filigree rings from the 1940''s, my mom has a very streamlined ring from the 70''s (solitaire with a slight by-pass design), my mine is modern. I don''t think any of those have gone out of style (or will go out of style), but each has definitely had its peak. The only ring that I foresee NEVER going out of style is the classic Tiffany solitaire, and the second Tacori ring seems to be closer to that.

Thanks for all of the great feedback this does help. You all Rock!!!

I vote for #2, the 2503. The detailing is just gorgeous, but it still retains the look of a classic solitaire. The prongs on the first ring seem a bit bulky and out of proportion to me.

I wonder if Tacori could customize style #2 with micropave on the shoulders? It''s not mentioned on the Tacori website for that specific style, but may be worth asking them about if micropave is a look your girlfriend loves.

I think 2516 is more classic as I am thinking a halo might date the ring because it''s a style that is really popular right now. That being said, almost all rings will look somewhat dated after a while because styles and trends change. Buy what you like, but if it''s a huge concern buy a plain solitaire.

Here''s 2616
This one looks more classic to me; both are beautiful!!!

The 2616 is classic and will never go out of style. Whether or not she will get tired of it in 5 years, very unlikely. Whether she will be tired of it by 15 years, more likely. I just bought a new wedding set to celebrate my 15th anniversary because I was tired of my old ring, which BTW, I still love, I just wanted something new. I had an 18k yellow gold ring and now I have (on layaway, so technically I don''t have it yet) a platinum Tacori set (HT2352). I want to mention that in real life, the Tacori rings are delicate and the detail isn''t in your face so much that you would get tired of it.

If she loves the 2616, go for it. You can''t go wrong with either Tacori.

I was just with a friend last weekend who has the 2616 and the matching band, they are stunning in person, and until I looked at them really closely I couldn''t see all the detailing. They just look beautiful and sparkly! But if she''s already concerned itmight get dated, I don''t think she loves it enough, seems like she might be leaning towards the simpler setting and just hasn''t admitted it to herself yet :)

I''m going to take the opposite view and say that any ring is likely to go in or out of style. In a few years white gold may be soooo old fashioned, because everyone has yellow gold then. Or some other cut may come into style, and the ideal cut round brilliant will look old fashioned. You just don''t know.

But the beauty of it is, once you have your ring, it is your ring. In 20 years, it will still be your ring. If you love it now, you will probably love it then. You can always decide then if you want to keep your ring, or modernize it.

So, please get whichever style makes your heart sing right now.

I agree!
I agree as well as long as she loves classic antique styles! However I will say that the first one will be more fragile if it has the crescent sides. Just buy from a vendor who will replace lost tiny stones.

i think both are lovely but prefer the look of the first one as more *classic*. I think there is a chance that she''d tire of any ring 30 years from now etc. so I''d choose the one she really loves now and not worry to much about what she''ll think down the road. Both styles are classic enough to be timeless IMO.

Hi, I recently just got engaged and have the 2503...I absolutely love it but it is a very unique look--it makes the stone actually look like a flower or snowflake, not a traditional round. For me, it is beautiful and classic with a twist which is exactly what I wanted---that being said, some of my friends have commented that they can see why I love it but would not choose it themselves because they want that traditional round brilliant look. If you check out SMTR EyeCandy folder, I think my ring is on page 121 or somewhere around there. I posted more pic''s in a new topic in SMTR around April 16th as well--those will give you a good look at what it looks like in "real life"

Good luck!

Also, I was told the design is at least five years old at this point so, if that''s true, it seems to stand the test of a five year timeline!
