I had always thought that I would want an RB stone, but the man I have fallen in love with was previously married. His ex's ring was a RB with a halo and pavé. So, I need something different. I may still change my mind and go for a RB depending on how he feels, but I'd like to at least explore cushion cuts.

- What are the hallmarks of a well-cut cushion?
- Obviously GOG is known for their AVCs (which I love) but those come at a premium. Any other vendors known for good cushions?
- Cushions face up smaller than their same-weight RBs. Looking at prices, it seems like a well-cut cushion is more expensive than a well-cut RB of the same carat weight despite this. Am I wrong?
- Budget for the stone is somewhere around 10,000 with some flexibility. Can anyone show me a few examples of what is possible with that budget. I like any color up to G/H and would like to stick to VS2 or cleaner.

Thank you in advance for your help

Thanks for your help. After pondering more, I think I may go for a 3 stone with an RB center with tapered baguette sides. That way I can still have the RB I've always wanted, but it will look different than the other one he bought.

That sounds classic and classy!
