Hi there, this is my first post so please be nice!!
I got engaged a few months ago and my fiance and I designed the ring we want. However the jeweller we went to wasnt really helpful and it wasnt till it was too late that I now realise that im not happy with the ring.
Basically I have a 0.8ct princess cut diamond with 2 x .38 trillions (one on each side).
The problem is (and I cant believe the jeweller didnt tell us this before we gave him the go ahead) that the side of the trillions that faces the middle stone is slightly longer than the middle stone (by about 2mm). Hence the middle stone looks smaller than the trillions
The jeweller has since moved interstate and we dont have contact with him.
Secondly, my fiance, as gorgeous as he is, doesnt see that there''s a problem with the ring, where as (and all you girls will agree).. I want my engagement ring to look perfect.
We dont really have another few thousand dollars to go buy a new bigger middle stone, our wedding is costing us heaps and we need to focus on that. Plus I would feel rude to ''exchange'' the middle stone for a bigger one.. and I don''t even know if you can do that.
So I''m asking for tips or ideas that I can do to try and fix it.
Would bagettes or some small stone look nice around the princess cut, sort of like a pave ring but then with the trillions still on each side?
Any other tips?
Please help!!
Thanks
