Hi, I just started my diamond search for a 2ct oval. i've been reading around Pricescope, but i'm still no expert so any help and input would be greatly appreciated! I'm currently considering 2 GIA ovals - one is from Perry and another is from Matinee. they have a price difference of about $2500. Here are the specs:

Oval 1:
2.00 ct. G SI2 (has twinning wisps)
10.13x7.18x4.17
59% table, 58% depth, medium - thick (faceted)
Ex, VG, Faint fluorescence

Oval 2:
2.01 ct. G SI2 (has tiny crystals)
9.66x7.34x4.36
59% table, 59.5% depth, medium - slightly thick (faceted)
VG, VG, Strong Blue fluorescence

Which one is better? I saw both of these diamonds in person, both look eye clean to me, but i'm wondering why the price difference...am i missing something here? thanks in advance!!

Oval 1 has about 0.5mm in length on #2...although you saw them in person, did either of them seem to have any bow tie (darkening across the middle) to you? For us to give some input on which would be better, we would need pictures of the stones, not just numbers.

Pricing on diamonds varies for many reasons: price when the rough was purchased, the cutter's fees, how well cut the stone is, how much profit the seller wants to make, etc. I don't think a price difference of $2500 is that unusual.

But we could not give an opinion on those stones without magnified photos.

pandabee, diamondseeker - sorry i don't have any pics right now... =T it didnt seem like they have a bowtie at least not noticeable to me. but oval 2 did look like it wasn't reflecting as well as the other - it could be because of the lack of fancy lighting though orr could it be because the twinning wisps was affecting the light performance? is that possible?

I think it would not be easy to answer that, Twining wisp inclusion would not really trouble in my opinion, the only way you could be
