The cut for this diamond is excellent, G and VS2 is acceptable to me too. Only one concern now is this diamond has two feathers. I've asked the seller inspector to take a look. the diamond is eye clean diamond for both top and side viewing. What the chance the "crack" will get bigger in the future? will it affect durability? also say in the future I want to trade in the diamond, will it significant reduce the value of diamond because of feather?

I don't think it will get larger with time What are the other specs on the diamond besides clarity?

You normally do not have to worry about feathers in VS2. But if it bothers you, perhaps you should look at VS1.

Clarity grading is a demerit system. That is to say, every diamond is presumed to be ‘flawless’ until you can point to something that sets the grade lower than that. The scale starts at the top and moved downward. All non-IF diamonds have SOMETHING in them. The question is whether or not what they have is going to be acceptable to you or not. This is large part of what sets the price. In the case of this one, the feather and the crystals are what set the grade. Without those it wouldn’t be a VS2. It also would cost more. So, in answer to your question, yes, it will affect the value on resale. It’s also affecting the value on purchase. Resale is a whole can of worms in any case but stones that are VS2 because of feathers have no more burden than stones that are VS2’s because of most other reasons.

Inclusions that ‘materially affects the beauty or durability of the stone’ is part of the definition of an I-1. ‘Materially’ is a pretty squishy word that’s subject to interpretation and there’s a possibility for durability trouble with feathers at the girdle, especially if the girdle is very thin or extremely thin at that point, but such a stone normally wouldn’t get a VS2 clarity grade for this reason. In your case it doesn’t apply anyway because of the location of the inclusion we're talking about.
