Hi there,

Sorry should have read HCA of 1.6.

Have been sifting through various stones. AGS id/id GIA xxx using the HCA as a sorting tool. Know that I want something that scores 1-2 on the HCA. My search has only turned up this GIA stone.

t 55%
d 62.2%
cr a 35
pav angle 40.8
pav depth 43
Star 80%

Having read through some of Gary's posts he puts this stone into Steep/Deep category.

No Sarin or Aset is available yet!

Anyone care to comment or run it through the diamcalc please.

Thankyou

You need an ideal-scope image to confirm there is no problems.

Hi sparkles!

Does this mean you''re deciding to trade your pear back in, or are you getting another sparkly?

Thanks Guys....

For future reference. Should I have passed on this stone because of the depth rather than calling it in?

Its incredibly difficult for a somewhat novice to make a judgement call on what stones the vendor should memo for you. It can also be quite an expensive process. I don''t know how much $$ I have spent in terms of getting stones in!

You are too quick FireGoddess!

Yes , I am fishing around at the moment.

Not necessarily. And the numbers you posted are right on the cusp of steep/deep, so this still could be a beautiful stone. An IS or ASET would be great to see though.

I remember all of the pear girlies, yanno? There aren''t that many of us.

Good luck in your fishing...I hope you catch something good.

Exactly FG, when stones are near a cusp the symmetry and the minor facets becomes more important.

If the symmetry is bad we will see the deliterious effects in the ideal-scope images (ASET is not as good for this as IS)

If their is digging we will see it in the ideal-scope (9but not the ASET with no light behind the diamond).
If it is none to slightly painted then that would be good, and we can see that in the IS too.

Should have made it clear earlier.

There was too much black pepper ...the cut wasn''t even a consideration after the inclusions made it a reject.

Back to the drawing board.....has someone got any good rough hanging around?
