Help to find 2 carat oval

Hi all,

After months of research and lurking around the forum, I am finally ready to buy a diamond.

My budget is 14,000-17,000 for the stone. At least 2 carats.

G or H color

S1 or better quality. Must be eye clean.

Will have a custom made halo setting.

Any suggestions out there to maximize value? Appreciate the help. Thank you in advance!

I just have a few questions before we begin. Ovals vary in shape / length to width ratio as you might be aware, some are roundish, others longer in shape, do you have a preference in this regard? I take it with colour, you are ok with G or H or higher? Have you already decided on your jeweller to make the setting?

As for the length/width ratio, I am not too particular as long as it looks more oval than round, so I guess around at least 1.3ish

I forgot to include that I would like No fluorescence.

Yes, H color or better. S1 clarity or better.

I do have a a jeweler who I am planning on using for the setting, but I am open to suggestions in case things do not work out with him.

You are most welcome! We will do our best and as for the fluorescence, hopefully we will find the right diamond without but I would say just keep an open mind perhaps if we can find the right stone if it does have faint or medium blue, if everything else is what you want?

I had a look for you and broadened your search parameters a bit to pull up some more selections. This one is a little under 2 cts but it does have potential and I thought no harm in showing it to you. You would need to check it is eye clean and that the knot inclusion wasn't an issue, one of the gemologists can advise if interested.

Quick Update. My diamond search is complete!

Was seriously considering a James Allen purchase, but my jeweler was able to source something in my price range that is stunning, just an incredible performing stone. I was skeptical at first because the GIA cert had more inclusions listed than other stones I was looking at, but it was eye clean to my nose. Also under a 10x loupe I barely could make out the inclusions. I will post pics when the ring is ready later this month.
