I think that is a great decision! I'm excited to see what you get when you're ready! It's taken me a couple years to figure that one out. ha ha

Just checking in to see how things are going for you, Christina. I think you've made a wise decision to wait. I'm glad my comments were of help to you. And, yes, our Italy plans definitely helped me rein in the upgrade bug -- though, as you know from visiting my EC thread, the bling bug never goes away completely!

Good to step back and really try andfigure it out. I recommend buying a bunch of fun rings in different cuts and proportions, maybe a bling fice stone too :naughty: amd seeing what you like. A trip to Tiffany always helps me too!

Better to take your time and truly get what you want.

You all are soo great! Thank you! thank you! A trip to Tiffanys sounds divine! :Up_to_something:  I spent three days going through the SMTB ering thread and I noticed that by the time I got the hundred and something page all the rings started to blend together and look the same. Of course they are ALL beautiful, but I think that I've come to realize that I want something unique....to me anyway. There doesn't seem to be much that hasn't been done, but like you have all said, if I slow down and take my time, upload lots of pics that appeal to me, try on tons of glorious rings, then it should start to come together, and if it doesnt, well then, thats what all of you are here for right?? :appl:

BTW I tried on a 1.39 rb AGS0 and I think that it could be a nice center stone weight. I also tried on a 3 stone princess (for proportions only) 1ct center with .4 sides, and I didn't think it was quite enough. Unfortunately there wasn't a huge selection other than your typical 3 stone and solitaires of varying weights, but I got a general idea.

I've also decided just concentrate on the center stone for right now, and have it set in my current setting, then design the setting around the stone (which is supposed to be the star anyway right?). I'm hoping that will temporarily satisfy my craving for bigger bling while I continue to collect ideas for the forever setting.

I also never got a 'real' WB  I had absolutely no idea what I wanted and was running out of time so I quickly ordered a 1 mm 18k WG band from an etsy vendor and figured I could use it as a spacer later....so I guess I should make sure that my forever setting includes room for the amazing WB this time too. ugh! sooo much to do!

sounds like a plan :)

That is definitely important to consider wedding bands as you think about the forever e-ring setting! It will be fun to collect ideas and work on your center stone upgrade in the meanwhile!

Christina

You are doing the right thing. Take your time. When you see the design, you will know. Do your research (most fun I have had in a long time trying on all those rings :naughty: ) and slowly it will become more clear.
I found that by talking it out here, it helped me see my options better.

I will watch your journey with great interest. Sometimes a lot of the fun is in the chase! :saint:

:wavey:

I agree, sometimes the most fun is the chase :)
