Are you sure about those angles? And the table? Those numbers are really bad, I actually have not seen an AGS0 with sucha poor combo. Sorry!

No sorry please. I really need your honest opinion. I don''t want my bf to waste $7000+ on something like this...

I copy and paste the numbers from the AGS web report. I kept on checking the numbers. They are correct according to the cert.

I''m just surprised that it''s AGS 000. I thought AGS 000 would have excellent light return, fire... etc...

Should I totally rely on the cut adviser? Am I too obessed with it? lol.. or... can it really determine how sparkle this is? If I found one with this:

Light Return Excellent
Fire Very Good
Scintillation Very Good
Spread or diameter for weight Very Good
Total Visual Performance 1.9 - Excellent within TIC range

Is this good?

what do you think dreamer?

The cut adviser is a rejection tool that will help you judge masses of diamonds fairly quickly. The basic idea is to reject anything that scores over 2, and then if they score under 2, continue further analysis using the other information on the lab report (like type and location of inclusions, girdle thickness, etc), light return tools like the Idealscope, etc. A score under 2 doesn't mean it's a great diamond, it just means that it has a better chance to be a great diamond.

In some cases when the Idealscope image and the HCA don't agree, the Idealscope wins as it provides a good picture of how all the facets are working together, rather than just judging by the numbers.

I thought that just because it is an AGS0, that does not make it a H&A diamond....am I correct?

This could be one of those stones which is ' gamed' to get the AGS0 designation looking at the proportions. I would not buy it without a thorough evaluation with an Idealscope or an Idealscope image. Also whether it is h&a remains to be seen, images of both h&a would be needed.

Some lab reports say H&A on them, but that might only mean that the stone has H&A inscribed on it or that the vendor would like to sell the stone as H&A cut. I don''t believe labs grade the quality of the H&A symmetry (am I wrong?), so it could be a good or bad H&A, or not H&A at all. Like Lorelei said, images are essential.

Thanks everyone.. I''ll look for other diamonds.

Numbers could be good, will need IS image and a hearts image to determine if it is really a H&A.

I would reject a diamond scoring more than 2 unless I had an IS image or owned my own IS and knew how to use it OR I ahd the diamond looked at by a qualified independent appraiser. With so many diamonds to choose from, unless there is a particular reason to do all of the above, I would look for another diamond.

H&A status needs to be verified by heart and arrows images before you should pay the H&A premium. Anyone can inscribe it on a girdle
