First time poster so please be easy on me! Looking to lean ont he great ones minds for some advise regarding these rings. The more I'm reading the more I'm getting confused and freaked out. These are the stones that were recommended. Which one would be the best to go forward with? Unless someone can find a better diamond. Thanks in advance for any help I receive.

Skip the VVS - no point in paying for high clarity your eyes can never appreciate.
What's the price of the JA VS1?
Does WF have a setting you'd be interested in if you go w/ the WF?

The ACA brand is the more prestigious pedigree, and those stones have more generous policies wrt trade-in, upgrade, etc. than JA offers. But JA usually has lower prices on comparable stones. Depends what your priorities are - no wrong answer here.

Both stones look nice - both will be very pretty, sparkly stones :sun: it's best to do the entire purchase with one vendor when possible, less hassle w/ appraising and insurance the loose stone for shipping & setting, no outside-stone setting fees, no liability issues... that's why I'm asking if there's something at WF you like..

Thank you for the responce!

final prices both stones are within $200 of each other. The JA being the higher priced.

WF is looking at a supplier who can get a similar ring so I can do the whole purchase through either company. I linked JA just cause I didn't have a link to use from WF.

Have you looked at the Legato Sleekline at WhiteFlash? To be honest, I think it is superior in terms of style to the James Allen ring.

But if you don't like that, they have one almost identical to the one that JA has:

She picked out the ring that she liked, but I will pass that link along. Thanks!

Anyone else have an opinion about these diamonds before I have to make a decision?

If you've decided on the JA setting, then I'd get the H-VS stone from them. It's a beauty.

I can get WF to bring in the same style setting from a supplier. It really just comes down to which center diamond.

What's the total price difference between the 2. If it's not much for the completed ring I'd go for the WF.

Let's look at the three diamonds from the perspective of proportions... The diamond from White Flash is cut to the center range of the proportions range for the zero ideal cut proportions rating from the AGS Laboratory, it should be stunning. The image of the Hearts and Arrows effect looks crisp and complete... I think it is a viable option.

I'm not as fond of the 1.22 carat, H, VS-1 option (Diamond #2) from James Allen because it's cut a bit deep at 62.3% with a combination of crown / pavilion angle which is a bit steeper than I prefer and while it is probably a very pretty diamond (certainly within the top 1% of round brilliant cut diamonds produced in the average year) the fact is that the 1.22 carat, H, VVS-2 (Diamond #3) is less expensive and is cut within the center range of the proportions scale (like Diamond #1) and thus I'd be more inclined to consider it over Diamond #2 from a statistics only perspective... sifting by the paper so to speak based on the numbers, but nothing beats an actual visual comparison ;))
