I think this diamond is beautiful....but its IGI certified.....which many diamonds are...but that's not as respected as GIA.
Does this look like a quality diamond to you? The only thing I'd worry about is the S12 clarity rating.
For a diamond this large (2 carats)....it is a good price ($8,500)....but at the same time....I am willing to pay more to know that I have a high quality, showy diamond.
Round Brilliant Cut with measurements of 7.51 - 7.59 X 5.20MM, and the weight is 2.00 Carats. The proportions are Depth, 68.9%, Table 60%, and I'm not sure on crown and pavilion angles
I appreciate any thoughts. Because it's on ebay, I cannot see the diamond first.
Below is the item description:
Stunning 2 carat, D color diamond set in a white gold solitaire pendant. The stone was originally in an engagement ring, but was reset in this pendant and can easily be returned to a ring/setting of your choice. The diamond has a recent IGI appraisal (dated 5/16/11) that you will receive with your purchase. The IGI appraisal (a portion of which is shown in the pictures) states that the cut is Round Brilliant Cut with measurements of 7.51 - 7.59 X 5.20MM, and the weight is 2.00 Carats. The proportions are Depth, 68.9%, Table 60%, Girdle Thick to Extremely Thick, Faceted, and the Culet very small. The polish is good and the symmetry is good. Clarity Grade is SI (2) (there is a picture that indicates the characteristics of the stone) and Color Grade is Colorless (D). The estimated Retail Replacement Value is $30,110.00. If you are interested in seeing the appraisal, contact me and I will send you the Report# and you can look it up on the IGI website.
This is a showy diamond--people will definitely notice at the BLING on your finger! I had a hard time capturing the fire of this diamond with my Cyber Shot camera, but if you would like more pictures, let me know and I will try to get better ones and send them to your email account (new/additional pictures were added 10-26-11). I ship only in the US and only to Pay Pal addresses (no exceptions). This is a final sale, so please ask questions in advance of bidding. Payment must be through Pay Pal and be completed within 3 days of closing--I do not accept e-checks. Free shipping includes insurance and signature confirmation.
