Hi,

First off, appreciate all those that contribute to this site - it's helped me a lot over the last 1-2 months as I try to find the perfect engagement ring.
I've tried my best to read this site and become as knowledgeable as possible in a short-time frame. Despite that, I would still appreciate some help:

These are two diamonds I've narrowed down to (1.6-1.8 ct, VS2, G/H, E/E/E, Low HCA, etc.)

1) http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-2661545.htm

2) http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/9194/

3) http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-VS2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1436463.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131

Any opinions between the two or any others worth looking at?

Any help will be VERY much appreciated.

Of the choices you listed, the two from JA and WF are similar enough to be called a matched pair I would think. Although the choice from GOG is a player as well. Here's what I am thinking. The GOG selection is a considerable amount more for something that is not going to be that much of a noticeable difference from the other two when mounted up in a setting. Think of it like this, the price difference is almost $3k for .04 ct difference in weight and about 1/10th mm in diameter. I think they would all perform more or less the same.

If I were shopping for a diamond in the size criteria/budget and price was not a major issue, I would be looking at the Solasfera line of diamonds that GOG carries. The look is not for everyone as some people think they are too "busy", but to others they are real showstoppers. You may have to give just a little bit on your criteria to stay in the same size or budget range you have as they do carry a price premium, but it's definitely worth considering I believe. I know they have access to many more of them than listed on their website too. You may want to e-mail them or call them to see what they can get to meet your criteria. They found one for me that graded out as an SI, but the feather was way out on the edge and is hidden under a prong. They saved me close to 20-30% with that because now that it's mounted, it looks IF with a loop unless you know which prong to look under.

Good luck in your search and purchase!

I would go with 1 or 3. As much as I love GOG, it wouldnt be worth spending the extra money (to me)...you could talk to them and
tell them your situation if thats the one you really want. Honesly, I would probably go for the JA. I would request an idealscope
image first (even though its AGS000). If H&A is important to you then go with the WF.

Edit - If you think upgrading at a future date may be a possibility then you need to look at their tradeup policys. I think WF
may be better than JA so that may affect your decision.

Thanks Haywood74 and tyty333. One other diamond that I had my eye on that was previously reserved came up and I have it on reserve for 24 hours. It is the following:

AGS-104053044021 ES 1.712 H VS2

I have also attached the hearts & arrows image. I have a call with the gemologist today. Any thoughts? Or questions worth asking? Think this is better than that ones I have previously posted? I'm ready to pull the trigger in the next day or two, so any help is MUCH appreciated.

I would go with WF, for the upgrade policy. If you ever decide to do so theirs is much better.
