Hi everyone, I have been lurking for many months now, and I have learned alot from all of you. However, now I have a few questions that I hope you all can help me with. I have a michael b princess ring, and this ring

is going to be my wedding band. A salesman who cleaned my ring today informed me that I would have to solder my wedding band to the pave ring. He says the pave will be ruined from any wedding band. I have learned on this forum that only diamonds can scratch diamonds. So i''m confused about what the salesman told me today. I would rather not solder my rings together. So my questions are...Did all you pave owners solder your wedding bands to the engagement ring? If not, were your rings ok by wearing a non pave band? Thanks for all your help.

Is you e-ring the MB 3-sided pave or the one? If it's the 3 then the SA is probably correct. The diamonds in the MB band will scratch up the plain side of the band you're wearing next to it. MB says his rings are designed as sets to be worn with the matching wedding band so I'd trust his opinion and wouldn't worry about his ring so much. If you don't mind the scratches, get the band you want and just have it polished every now and then.

ETA: if you have the one-sided princess, I don't see where there would be a problem, looks like only metal hitting metal to me.

My e-ring is the one sided pave, not the 3 sided pave. Thats why I was confused, because I thought there wasnt a problem with the one sided pave scratching.

if it''s one sided pave, i don''t think there would be a problem at all. just metal hitting metal. there may be normal wear that happens when any 2 rings are worn next to each other, but nothing i''d be concerned about and nothing a yearly polish would take care of.

Thanks for your help mrssalvo!
