Help! Problems shipping loose diamond to Australia

Hi everyone.

I am hoping someone might be able to help me. I am really wanting to purchase a loose diamond that is up for sale, and am needing help with finding a suitable way to ship the diamond, as I do not want to miss the opportunity to buy this. I am hoping also to share this beauty with you all also, hopefully when this problem is sorted.

I am not having much with finding a suitable way to ship the diamond from USA to Australia. I phoned the Fedex call center, and they told me that they are prohibited from shipping this diamond to me, as it is a personal effect?

I checked with USPS, and it seems that if it was set in a ring or jewellery it would not be a problem, however unset USPS cannot ship it either.

Can someone please assist, as I thought from what I had seen on these forums that a lot of people import jewelery and diamonds using Fedex into Australia, so hopefully someone can head me in the right direction, as how to go about this.

I am aware that I will have to pay gst etc on the diamond, but my main prioirity is now finding a way to get this lovely beautiful diamond here to me in Australia from the seller.

Can you have the seller put the stone into a temporary setting so that it can be shipped?

Have a look into global express. I personally haven't used them but have read on here that other Aussies have used them to ship in loose gemstones.

I am sure ZahraLeyla had hers shipped (USA to WA) via Fedex and it was a loose stone???
