Help - Princess cut, what would you choose and why??

Just want to say hi . I''ve been searching and searching and now I''m ready. I just need a little help from all of you to make my decision. Sorry I wasn''t able to get any pictures.

No way to tell the performance of a princess cut from numbers. Will need at least an ASET image and a normal image.

You will need to check the very thin part of the girdle on the second diamond isn''t a potential durability issue by asking a trusted vendor or appraiser to check it, they aren''t always a problem but definitely need careful evaluation.

As to the diamond, SC is right - we need ASET images and detailed photographs for both, can you get them or doesn''t the seller provide them? Is the diamond for sale online or from a store?

I think that the table is too large on number 1 and I think that the girdle is too thin (and too variable from v.thin-thick) on number 2.

I would be put off with table >72% and depth >75%. It generally seems better to have table% slightly less than depth %.

Girdles described as "thick" hide a lot of weight and you can see that number 1 is smaller than number 2 as a result.

Also consider the number and position of the chevrons on the pavilion. Their arrangement can make two apparently identical princess stones look quite different. Less chevrons give less flashes but the flashes will be larger.

From the basic stats listed, it's possible that number 2 might be the better stone. But there's no mention of crown height, which can be important.
Although controversial, I believe that you can get a vague idea of crown height from the certificate, despite it saying "not to actual proportions" - in my experience, they are drawn to actual proportions.
