Hi all,

So we're in the process of deciding what setting I'd like. I've very much decided to go with this Leon setting and the master will set them for me, YAY!!

The only two questions I have are:

1) whether I should go for the Euro backs or jumbo push backs? I'm having trouble visualising the Euro backs. Leon said that the Euro should be about 6-7mm whereas the pushbacks 10mm in diameter. He recommended the Euro, but am worried the earrings may droop (bearing in mind the diamonds are fairly large at 2.3ct each and about 8.50-8.60mm in diameter) and had thought I wanted the regular jumbo pushbacks, until Leon brought this up.

2) what length should the posts be? I tend to wear my earrings rather loose (don't like to push them too tight against my lobes); and for added security, I've asked for two grooves (instead of the usual one groove) on each post, which Leon said yes to. I understand that in the US, the standard is 10mm, but in Singapore the standard seems be 12 mm in length. In fact, my current 1 carat studs have 13mm posts. I'd like these new studs to have 14mm posts. Does that sound right to you?

Thank you.

Oh, also I *think* but am not sure that the push-backs are the same as heavy friction backs. Is that correct?

If you wear them intentionally loose, they''re going to droop regardless of which back you choose IMO.

Well, I see you're going for the whole enchilada. Tasty!

What's a Euro back? i searched but nothing came up.

Also, 14 mm sounds long. I don't really see the need, but maybe I'm missing something? And yes, I believe push back is heavy friction.

And ditto pp.

I actually talked to Lesley just now and we figured out what Euro backs are and I''ve decided that I don''t actually want them because they''d just be too fiddly! (thanks, Lesley, you''re a doll).

Yes, 14mm does sound long compared the the standard US posts. Just wondering if anyone else has posts this long?

PP, my ACA''s in fact do not droop nor do my 1ct stones. So I think jumbo backs really help and that''s what I''m gonna go for.

Thanks, ladies.

Those are going to be gorgeous PHX!!!

Did you ask Miss Lesley her opinion on this as well? I think I would trust her judgement.

My 10mm posts almost poke me in the neck behind my ears. I''d be concerned about pokage with 14mm posts!

Actually, Lesley said it was too long. I''m beginning to wonder if my jeweller has measured it incorrectly, but she did it twice, right in front of me. Mind you though, my earlobes are a bit on the thick side, so I wonder??

I can''t wait to see them Pheonix. As far as backs are concerned, you should look into Monster backs, they are fiction backs but over sized so the earrings won''t droop.

Wow, Phoenix, these are going to be stunning! Can''t wait to see them!

What are "monster" backs? Are they like jumbo backs but bigger? The jumbos are 10mm in diameter, are the monster even bigger?

Thanks, ladies, for all yr kind words.
