Hi everyone,

I have a diamond that is .45 (or so) I want to put it into a Beverly K setting. My budget for the setting is 1500 or under. I went to pearlmans site and I saw many in that range that I LOVE. But I am unsure as to which style would look the best for the size of the diamond I have.

ie. should I go with halo set or cathedral etc.

Please help.

tnx

Hi le chateau,

I think the decision as to what looks best with your stone will be really a personal thing. Have you tried halo''s etc on? .45 is not small, it would look beautiful in many different settings. So you need to see what style you like on your hand as a starting point.

Or, if you are wanting to maximize the size of the stone a halo will make it look larger. Also a higher set style on a thin band, possibly tapered towards the diamond will also make it ''POP''!

Can you go try on some Bev K settings in person?

Here''s one from Bev K that combines both of the things I was talking about. A halo and a tapered band!

Also here''s one that would look fabulous if you like halos. A Pricescoper named ''Upgradable'' has it. Gorgeous!

This is the only picture I can find. It''s the one on the left.

Thank you very much! And thanks for saying that my stone is not small. I really appreciate that. I thought maybe it was considering most settings seemed to be designed for .75 and higher and I''ve been lurking here for years and size seems to matter here.

Your advice is really helpful. Thanks again.

I think a halo would be beautiful on a .45 stone. I would give you nice finger coverage. A cathedral would be good too
because it sets up higher and gives the illusion of a larger stone. My first choice would be a halo though. I prefer the
halos with solid metal shanks because I like the contrast of the diamonds and metal but thats purely personal preference.

Are you set on Bev K? Is it the antique look you are going for?

A .45 isn''t small at all, especially if you like halos! To be honest, with diamonds, I actually think under 1ct stones are the ones that look best in halos - they look perfectly proportional. With your finger size a .45 halo''d would give some incredible finger coverage, and those BevK settings posted are just scrumptious

What about this one?

I know it''s not a halo setting... Would my size stone look good or get lost in it?

I like the engraved antique look. Hand engraved not cast. It doesn''t have to be Beverly K per se, just that look

That is a beautiful setting, and would show off your stone nicely!
