Is the head of this setting to big for my stone? Hopefully I have attached the picture.

A jeweler in person would be able to answer that question better. It''s hard to tell from the picture.

Bring it to your jeweler you plan to have set the ring. They''ll be able to tell you for certain much easier than we can with a few pictures.

I am going to have the guy who sold me the setting and the stone set the ring for me. I am sure he will said it fits.

I dunno...it looks super high, I would think it can come down a little. Also, maybe it's the angle in your photograph, but the stone looks like it is tilted in the setting. I think once lowered, the diamond will look more in line with the size of the ring head.

ETA,
I just re-read that it's not set yet. Okay...in that case, only a jeweler who has the ring in front of him/her can tell you for sure if the diamond will fit in the setting based on measurements of both the ring and the diamond.
