I remember reading a thread, not too long ago, in which someone mentioned a new insurance carrier that was much more reasonable than Jewelers Mutual. I cannot seem to find it now. My daughter text me this morning that she woke up in the middle of the night and felt her ring and the diamond was missing. Luckily, she found it in her family room. She would like to get insurance but I think JM would be more than they could afford. The diamond was a family diamond so she will have to get an appraisal I am sure.

Maybe @azstonie might have an idea of an appraiser and a trustworthy jeweler in AZ? If anyone can give me the name of a insurance carrier or find the thread I would greatly appreciate it. I checked both Rocky Talky and Hangout but can’t seem to find it.

Chubb is on the list of companies who give $$$ to NRA, fyi in case anyone cares. Ksinger just posted the list in the “Our Moloch” thread, I believe.

Do they have homeowners? If so they can check to see if it may be covered under that policy, or if they can get a rider.

I am happy with them but I am not happy with them giving the NRA money. I'll be searching for comparables.

Does anyone else use their homeowner's with a scheduled property addendum? I have done this with Allstate and in fact they just upgraded the coverage based on my new setting invoice and a new stone value from Erica at LAD who originally sold the stone to me. The increase put the premium at $177 per year. I do not have to find a like stone, they will send a check for the covered value to me if it is lost, damaged, or stolen. I do have to have a police report to make a claim.

Thank you everyone! I think Gemsafe was the company I am thinking of. I will check out Chubb as well. I know for myself, I couldn't find anyone who would write a policy for me. I will have them check out their homeowners and Lavalier as well (thank you ROL).
I know we will need to take it to an appraiser as well. She is having her MIL check to see if she has the paperwork. This give me a place to start, thank you. DD has pregnancy brain so I think most of the leg work will be left to me. I am ok with that.;-)

I am a long time lurker---shy and unsure of the value of my contributions so I don't post much. In any case, I read the ThinkProgress article referenced and Chubb ended its relationship with the NRA---quote from the article:

"Chubb
Until recently, insurance company Chubb underwrote the NRA Carry Guard insurance for gun owners. On Friday, the company said it would end this practice. According to Reuters, “Chubb gave notice three months ago of its plan to stop participating in the NRA insurance program.” The company told ThinkProgress it did not make the decision public until Reuters reached out this week."

Oof. So sorry if anything I posted was misleading.

Thanks @WhoaNelly for doing due diligence and providing updates!

Hi Luv--- I wish I could recommend a jeweler here in AZ.

I hate spending on insurance, so instead of spending that way, I got a big ass safe at Costco and a home security system with cameras (also Costco :lol-2:).

I use Lavalier. They've been so much more affordable than JM for some reason, even though their online quote is approximately the same. I'm very happy with my detailed policy. CALL THEM and speak to a person to give you a quote. It may be much less than the online calculator.
