I found a 1.52 H VS2 cushion cut vg sym and vg polish set in platinum basic seeting for $6500. Is this a good diamond and deal?? I have been looking on this site for a while and tried to become knowledgable bout am doubting my self right now. I wanted a diamond that looked like old mine cut square. This is the best value and quality I have found.

I will attach the egl report next.

Here is the EGL report for that diamond..........

If it makes you feel any better, I spent 30K with WF and Mark Morrell has the stone and it is going to run me close to another 10K making the ring and band. I haven''t even seen a picture from a cell phone, just those cad drawings and scope images. All depends on if you trust the places you are buying from.

Hi,

Will the seller allow you to get the diamond appraised before you purchase and what is the return policy?

Personally I would be very relcutant to buy a diamond without seeing it first, but if there''s one particular diamond I wouldn''t buy without seeeing it, it''s a cushion. Having just spent 3 months searching for my cushion, I can tell you that specs on paper really mean nothing. There are just so many variables and different ways they can be cut. The plot on your lab report is definitely interesting. It appears to be more of a modern cushion, and I would lean towards "modified" as well. I only reason I mention this is becuase you mentioned that you wanted an "old mine, which I wouldn''t calssify this stone as. If YOU like the stone though, that''s all that matters. I can''t comment on the lab report though because it''s kind of blury, can you post the numbers?

The cert is blurry but I think I made out the depth to be 71% and the table to be 63%. Both these numbers are large, meaning the stone is small for its weight and you might get a bit of table glare and mostly white fire only. Also, this is a EGL USA cert so I'd double check with an appraiser to make sure the H VS2 rating is accurate.

Also, the faceting does NOT look like an OMC, if that is what you are looking for. OMC types will have teeny tiny tables in the low 50's, sometimes even in the 40's and usually has large culets.
