I got the go ahead to post on here from the mods.
First of all, posting my whole email to you? Not nice! You are not playing fair, especially since you didn't post your whole message to me.
Secondly, of course you are paying for a brand name! When you buy a ring in a tiffany, tacori, ritani setting you are paying a premium for a name. Obviously, a regular platinum .23ct pave setting would not be $4000.
You seem to have a lot of concerns. I feel like I have explained to the best of my abilities. If you really needed this to go directly from me to an appraiser I would have done that for you but frankly if they are not acting as escrow I didn't see a difference between you taking it to an appraiser your self, or me sending it to them directly. Now that I think of it, how would I be know that you wouldn't switch out the stone for a CZ , take it to the appraiser and then try to return it to me? Shazaam!
Look smartdriver, do what is best for you and your engagement. I am not pushing this on you, and also your pricing a few posts above doesn't seem to reflect the fact that I already told you that I would come down to $5400 for YOU which you so clearly posted on the internet, when you reposted my email.
ETA: and the setting you are talking about on DB needs to have the prongs rebuilt to fit the stone that you buy...did you calculate that into your price...hmmm, not so sure
