A guy friend of mine sent a picture today of the engagement ring he is buying for his gf and I have fallen in love with the setting. I kind of tried to coax the designer name out of him but he didn't say outright and I don't feel comfortable saying "who made the setting because I want to copy it!".

Does it look familiar to anyone? Would love, love, love, some help/ guidance. Thank you!!!

Maevona westray is what it looks like to me.

Aand I see my post has taken too long lol.

Yes they are a good company. I see your name, are you in Michigan or the other side of the lake?

Keep in mind that most people get very angry and upset when their engagement rings are copied. I personally wouldn't copy it exactly. Maevona has a lot of GORGEOUS rings that have that same feel. If this is a friend you don't want to lose, I wouldn't copy their ring exactly.

If it was a tiffany 6 prong, that's one thing. But it's a unique setting. So unique I knew the designer just from the one image. I honestly would be hurt and upset, and these things DO NOT usually bother me at all, if a real-life friend of mine got the same setting as mine at the same time I got my ring... or even within a couple years, when that setting is unique.

We've had posters throw hissy fits and stop posting here and yank their pictures all off this board because a poster they have never met copied their rings. Seriously.

Right or wrong, that's the truth. So I would advise you to be sensitive to that. Even if that person is usually laid back, engagement rings are different.

I actually live in California now. Use to be in Chicago and miss the lake so much.

Would never exactly copy it. But part of me is going to hold my breath and see if he buys that one.

Are they pretty unique or is there other designers like them. Price wise where are they on the scale?

I love this site! Questions answered in no time!!!

All their styles are listed there. And so are their prices. That part is DIY, I have faith you can figure it out. ;))

Maevona is pretty unique, I can usually spot one of their settings without problem. They do have lovely designs. http://www.maevona.com/product/MVBB_TOR This one is my favorite.

Oh OK. I was just thinking of where you could go and see them in person.

They are fairly reasonable when it comes to designer brands. No completely cheap. Not over the top

You can ask Dimendscassi if they can modify this setting: http://www.dimendscaasi.com/settings/settings-platinum-Solitaire-set-diamond-engagement-rings-alessandra to make the shank slightly wider 2.3mm, and make it s knife edge, but still keep the lines of the profile. As long as they don't split the shank like the Westray, it will be unique enough so that it's not an exact copy but also very similar in terms of fluidity and the profile view.

Here's another Maevona, I adore. The diamond is the flower, and the ring its petals and stem! http://www.maevona.com/product/MVA33_EOR_DIA

The poppy and the fern are my two favorite maevona settings.
