I am about to pull the trigger on a diamond tomorrow! I looked one more time on the website and I noticed that diamond has some weird variation in the 8 pointed star at the center of the table. Some other diamonds don''t have this. What sort of assessment can the experts here at PS offer?

Also, the diamonds specs are:

1.248 I VS1
Measurements: 6.92-6.96X4.25
Pavilion Angle: 40.7
Crown Angle: 34.7
Table %: 56
Depth %: 61.3

I felt this values were pretty good, but maybe you all feel differently?

Could some of the extra black in the center of the stone be due to the black paper which the stone was photographed against?

you can't tell anything about symmetry from that pic - any visible variation is due to the photography, not within the diamond itself.

The black is not the black background or black paper - if it was you'd see leakage in that area through the IS/ASET.

ETA: numbers are nice. If it's a H&A then WF will give you a hearts image that will tell you more about optical symmetry

Arrows are black because they reflect the balck camera (in real life they are not black at all, but silvery). Most likely the diamond was slightly tilted when photographed making the camera reflect slightly asymmetrically in the arrows.

The diamond is an AGSO right, with EX symmetry? Stop making yourself crazy, it is a great rock

You have done great. I know how hard it is making a big decision with a lot of money, and then having to wait for so long to see the finished product, but you are going to be blown away. If you have never seen a diamond that is cut to the highest standard, it really is a sight to see. I never see anyone in real life with a diamond as sparkly and brilliant as mine, and I know you will feel the same way.

looks good.

As the others have said there isn''t a problem with the arrows, its obstruction that shows in photography making the arrows look black. It should be a beautiful stone.

Thank you for your help clearing up some last minute jitters everybody! I''m very excited about this diamond and the setting.

I can''t imagine where I''d be in the buying process or what I would''ve bought if I had never found the pricescope forum!
