Thank you so much :) I have learned so much from this experience! I have narrowed it down significantly. I am either going with

Option 1: 2 chevron from GOG : http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/6170/

Option 2: 3 chevron from WF: http://www.whiteflash.com/princess/Princess-cut-diamond-1204608.htm#

I am going to get it set in a solitary, Tiffany style platinum setting :D I am leaning on the 3 chevron from WF for the sole fact that I think i like the 3 chevron vs 2 chevron. If anyone finds another 3 chevron top of the line cut princess than I''d be more than glad to do some more comparison. Maybe there''s another amazing store besides, WF, GOG, and Infinity that i might have missed? Thanks again!

P.S. I am going to wait for the IS from the James Allen. But I''m going to agree with Jstarfireb and say it''s probably out of the running for not being as high quality as WF and GOG.

sorry I dont know how to add the hyperlinks as a click =/

I think the GOG 2 chevron is a slightly higher quality diamond, and a little cheaper.... but I''m leaning on the 3 chevron WF diamond... i don''t think that the slight difference in quality is that visible to the untrained eye. I really like the video that showed the sparkle from the 3 chevron diamond. The smaller and more prominent sparkles just seem to light up over the whole diamond compared to the 2 chevron.

the WF diamond is what im leaning on :) Have you heard anything real bad about WF that I should be aware of? I''m reading over their policies at the moment.

No, they are a good company with a solid rep here. You can try a search to read of other people''s experiences with them, personally I have purchased from them and would do so again.

I believe the WF stone is more expensive because of the Canadian provenance, but I could be wrong.
Jstar is right - stones of Canadian origin come at a premium.

Allison, do you have anything i should know about that WF diamond i am looking at? Something i might have missed?
Can you tell me why its not considered an ACA diamond? Looks pretty dam good to me lol

I''m not sure the GOG diamond is really a 2-chevron stone. Looking at it carefully, I believe it may be a 3-chevron stone, just with broader chevrons. I would ask Jon at GOG what it really is. There''s no inclusion plot on the GIA report, and that''s where it usually tells you.

jstar, the GIA report doesn''t show an inclusion plot, but the Helium report shows the 2 chevrons.

Hey, me again :)

What do you guys think about this diamond here:

http://www.whiteflash.com/princess/Princess-cut-diamond-1231700.htm#

The IS and ASET look pretty good to me. I''m hesitant about the symmetry (5.02-4.82 x 3.5) Is that .2 going to make a visible difference on a setting?

In addition, could someone tell me how many chevrons this diamond has? Thank you!

It's an OK princess, well above commercial quality, but not a real top cut--probably better than 90% of them out there, though.

The length/width ratio is fine at 1.04--about 1.05 is where the naked eye can start to tell a diamond is out of square.

It looks like a 4 chevron to me, kind of tough to tell from the pic, could be a 3. EDT2: Looking again, I think it is a 3, but the chevrons have a lot of width variation.

EDT: I like the other WF one you linked above a lot better

Jet, would you say my first choice of

http://www.whiteflash.com/princess/Princess-cut-diamond-1204608.htm#

is a better overall princess diamond? Would you recommend this as my top choice diamond for 3 chevrons?

lol i just read your edit. Thanks :D

Ditto Jet, and thank you for the helium update!

Very welcome.

(Isn''t a Helium scan a great thing? One of the reasons I love looking on GOG, you can get a lot of info from that one report)

Not to make your decision even tougher....but when I started looking...I too was fixated on an F color VS2. And those are of course, perfectly fine to fixate on

But after I figured out that I could get a larger stone with a G or H color and an eye clean SI1...it was a no brainer for me.

I just got my WF princess G SI1 and it is WHITE and eye clean just as they said

If you opened your options a bit, you could get a 1 ct

Alright ladies and gents. I am 95% sure that I want to go with the .707ct WF diamond

http://www.whiteflash.com/princess/Princess-cut-diamond-1204608.htm#

Set in a platinum, solitary 4 prong Tiffany style setting.

I am debating on acting fast so I don''t lose this amazing diamond, or if I should continue to browse in case a better diamond appears..which i feel might be difficult to surpass, or at least take a long time.

I do want to thank everyone who has helped me in any way in this decision. Words on a forum alone cannot express how grateful I am. Thanks again! I will be on this sight for any future information/purchases! I might even start giving opinions myself one day! haha

Sincerely,

Ted

Best of luck,go for it!

Great choice! Do ask WF why it didn''t get an ACA rating; I''d love to hear!

As for the ebay suggestion, buying a large diamond on ebay is a risky venture, not to mention that''s a clarity enhanced stone, and I have no idea how reputable UGL is. I would avoid it.

Congrats, tap! That will make a beautiful ring. Please post pics when you receive the final product.

No worries on acting fast. You have done a great job researching and asking good questions and you will see the reward when you open the FedEx box. (And the one inside that, and the envelope inside that

thank you! thank you! :D

Tap, you better put that stone on hold before someone snatches it...

It''s listed as sold now. Hope that was you, tap!

I DID BUY IT :D and the reason it is not considered ACA rating because of one spec. = the table rating of ACA is 68% the WF diamond that I bought was 68.4% Everything else was considered ACA. I am super excited, happy, and nervous at the same time! lol. Thank you again to everyone! Once I get the pictures I will be back to post them!

- Ted :)
