Hi,

I wanted to first thank you all for teaching me everything I currently know about diamonds! My boyfriend and I are currently shopping for an engagement ring. We have decided to go with Brian Gavin Diamonds after reading lots of good things about them.

This is the setting that we have chosen:

We are considering the following diamonds:

http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/d...ls/1.064-g-si1-round-diamond-ags-104064813011

Do you think either of these are good purchases? Would you recommend something else?

Desired Specs:
Colour: H+
Carat: 0.9-1.1
Clarity: SI1+ (eye clean)
Cut: Excellent
Budget: USD $8500

Thank you!

Great call to go with BGD.

Have you considered the Blue line? You may be able to find a better value there, while preserving the top-notch cut quality. I own a BG Blue stone and can tell you that it is stunning.

Consider these two stones:
1.012ct, G, SI1 - almost $1k less expensive than the G-colored stone linked

1.113ct, H, SI1 - larger and less expensive than the H-colored stone linked

These are better options. That 1.06 G even though eye-clean looks like it has something on table.
