I''ve been lurking around Pricescope for a while. I feel like I''ve done my best to try and educate myself about what kinds of things to look for in a diamond (and what to avoid). But, this will be my first diamond purchase and even though I feel knowledgable, I know that I still have a lot left to learn. If anyone could give me some advice on the following diamond, I''d greatly appreciate the help.

1.045 H VVS1
Measures: 6.58 - 6.59 x 3.99 mm
Depth %: 60.7
Table %: 55.9
Pavi Angle & Depth: 40.7 & 42.9%
Crown Angle & Height: 33.9 & 15.0%
Star Length: 55%
Lower Girdle Lenght: 77%
Polish & Sym: Exc
Culet: Pointed
Girdle: Thing to Medium (1.1-3.3%)
Fluorescence: None

Looks very nice! You could ask for an Idealscope image to confirm the numbers, but it looks good! Also unless you prefer a very high clarity, you could drop to a VS or even SI and still have a very clean diamond, but this is a preference thing!

thank you for being the only person to help

She''s very nice isn''t she?

Don''t be too offended, it''s much quieter here on the weekend. And I just now saw your post.

The numbers on that look great, I see nothing wrong. As Miss Lorelei suggested, if you could get a IS pic, it would be icing on the cake, but if not, I think it''s a really safe bet!

I''m sorry that you didn''t get lots of responses ...

I''m new to PS as well and I understand how excited you can get waiting for responses to learn from the wealth of info people have to share only to be disappointed when not many people respond. Don''t take it personally. I think it has a lot to do with when you post your question ... If you post it at a time when there are not many people online, it sort of gets lost.

I ran your numbers in the Holloway Cut Advisor tool they have here on PS and ... drumroll please ... looks like you have a winner!

Your diamond scores as follows ..
Light return, Fire & Scintillation = Excellent!
Spread (diameter for weight) = Very Good

Total Visual Performance = 0.7 - Excellent

Congratulations on your first diamond purchase if you decide to make this one yours!!!

I feel you there ...

That''s exactly why I found myself drawn to PS! I kept on feeling as though I was getting duped and didn''t want to actually by something and live with that feeling forever.

Here''s to not being duped and to taking the time get the information we need to make a good and informed decision

You''re welcome Munchkin. Let us see pics if you get it, ok?

Hi,

The diamond you are looking at is cut well, in my opinion you could go to F VS2 and be able to see the diffrence
in colour but not the clarity with your eyes, Why the VVS1. is this your preference ?

Paul

To be honest, I''m considering this stone because it falls in all of the ranges of attributes I''m looking for - (clarity: VVS1 thru VS2) the fact that it''s VVS1 is partially a coincidence.
