Hey everyone,

My fiancé and I had this ring custom made. It is a 2.04 RB in a platinum petite halo setting with a European shank. I love the look of the ring from the top but unfortunately I am not happy with its profile. The lip of the halo is much thicker than I imagined it would be. The jeweler said it had to be this way to structurally support our diamond size (wish he would have mentioned this before  ).

I am thinking about adding micro pave diamonds to the lip of the halo to make the ring look more complete along with extending diamonds on the sides to reach the edge of the squared shank. The jeweler gave us a quote on this work but it is not cheap (i.e. $550) I am hoping that this will make the ring look more cohesive? Maybe I won't notice it when I get my wedding bands? It's just that all I see from my view on my hand is the profile instead of the beautiful top ; (

Does anyone have any experience with this? Here are some pictures of my ring...any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!img_1354_2.jpgimg_1355_4.jpgimg_1351_2_0.jpgimg_1357_4.jpgimg_1361_1.jpgimg_1349_2_1.jpg

This is what I was thinking it would look like with the diamonds on the lip of the halo...wg_2.jpgwg_4.jpgwg_5.jpg

I agree with you that I wouldn't want to stare at a lip that thick. That said, is the jeweler confident he can add pave there without compromising the structural integrity of the ring? Has he does this before and has before/after pics he can share with you? I'd make sure and clarify what happens if it all goes to hell. Will he make you an entirely new ring?
