Hi all,

Would be grateful if someone could give me some advise on these two diamonds, which is the best?
Will a S1 grade be eyeclean?(have sent bluenile an email asking this, said they will get back in 24 hrs)

If your set on those two, from the available information I''d go for the first diamond as it has the better cut. Cut is king.

2 great HCA scores!
I''d go nr. 2:
I prefer 40.8° over 41° pavilion, symmetry/polish both excellent.
But I may be wrong!
Difficult to choose, the 2 diamonds should be great!

thanks for the quick replys, the second diamond show h&a on the report and is a better colour, any more sugestions?

Yes, the symmetry of the second one should be better BUT the laser inscription "H&A" is not a guarantee that you will have a true H&A.

so for the small difference in price would you go for the better colour? will there be a difference between an h/ f colour grade? would about s1 grade?will it be eye clean? the last diamond i bought was vvs1, h colour, ideal cut, and it is outstanding( well to me anyway)

It depends on you, I''m very clarity sensitive, but other people (the most?) are color sensitive.

As far as cut is concerned, I think both diamonds are comparable based on their proportions.

I experienced the same dilemma as you on clarity and wondered whether I could live with an SI1 stone. I purchased my stone on Bluenile, and probably frustrated the telephone reps to no end with my questions on what exactly "eye-clean" means and if I would be satisfied.

I was told that "eye-clean" (for Bluenile, anyways) means that if you held the diamond 1-2 feet from your face and looked directly down at the top of the diamond you would not be able to see the inclusion(s). "Eye-clean" does not mean that you can't see inclusions if you look at the diamond from other angles -- you could have an "eye-clean" diamond and still be able to see inclusions depending on the viewing angle.

At the end of the day I had to order the diamond and see it for myself, and I suggest you do the same. I agree with QueenMum -- only you will know if the diamond is right for you once you see it. I was fully prepared to return the diamond, but was very happy with it once I received it (and had it independently appraised).

Best of luck to you.

Mike

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE REPLYS
STILL NOT DECIDED, BUT HAVE FOUND ANOTHER DIAMOND A LITTLE BIGGER, http://www.bluenile.co.uk/round-diamond-1-carat-or-less-ideal-cut-h-colour-si1-clarity_LD01322440?filter_id=1 AND I''M ABOUT TO HIT THE BUY IT BUTTON, IS THIS WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY, BLUENILE SAY THE DIAMOND IS 100% EYECLEAN, YOUR HELP AND SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED

This diamond looks to be very promising by the numbers! Make sure it is eyeclean to your specifications and that you and your BN rep are on the same page so to speak, where the ''eyecleanliness'' of this diamond is concerned.

Sorry I can''t offer any assistance on making a selection. I just wanted to say that I found it interesting that if you pull up the same stock number on the US site, the price after conversion to GBP is about $40 less. I assume this is based upon additional shipping charges. But its good to know they probably aren''t playing any price games.
