I am new here. So hello to everyone. My husband bought me a new ring from my family jeweler. My family has been using this guy for years. We went in picked it out. Picked out the band, then the stone. I told him I wanted a 1 carat SI1 G-H. I thought the stone looked a little yellow, he said it wouldn''t look that yellow once set. My hubby went and picked it up and it looked like we purchased a yellow diamond. We took it back he apologized and had an excuse for the mistake. I looked at two other diamonds, and picked one out to be remounted in the ring. However I don''t know if I am happy with it, it has this whispy looking inclusion in it. I can see it with my naked eye. The diamond is $4800, i just assumed that it ame with a certification, but when I was in there today he said I graded this one at. So does that mean no certification? Any suggestions on how to deal with this. Is that to much money for that diamond? Thanks

Sounds like you''d like an opportunity to start over. Consider researching your opportunities for taking this. Can you or someone make a blind call, to find out their standard policy for a refund after a purchase? If their standard policy allows this, consider just asking for it...or requesting that transaction be put on hold, at least, until your are satisfied...either buying from him, or someone else. Alternately, if it''s not so obvious a refund is possible (after a blind call)...well...figure out what to do after the easy way has been looked at first.
