Help please!!!

Hello All....I''m about to buy a 3 stone ring from whom I believe is a very reputable dealer; I picked out the stones today and I just have to go back to pick out the setting. I just want to make sure that I am getting a fair price. I''ve listed what I know about the ring below and the prices I''m going to pay. Can some just give me an idea if I should go through with it? I could use all the help I can get as this is an engagement ring for my sweetie. Thanks!

- 3 stone ring

- Center stone: 1.16ct Princess Cut; Ideal make, H color, VS2 Clarity; GIA Certified

- 2 side stones are .5 ct a piece (total 1ct) matching quality to center stone

- Setting is platinum

- Dealer says that he bought the 1.16 stone because of its quality and brilliance

Center stone is $5,200; Side stones are $2,300; Total ring price is $8,150 +tax.

It''s hard to tell because we really don''t know the quality of the center stone, side stones, or setting. You say the center stone is Ideal make, but GIA does not give cut grades to princess cuts. One way you can gauge yourself is trying to build a similar ring online (say Blue nile for example) and then you can judge for yourself whether the price is fair or not. Costco sells an I/VS2 (their guarantee, IGI appraisal, may or may not come with other grading reports) 2 ctw 3 stone princess for $6300.00 Is it the same as the ring you are looking at? Mondera sells a 2 ctw white gold for $9000.00. Fair or not? Hard to tell from over here. Good luck on your hunt. A 3 stone princess ring will be sweet.

Thanks for the feed back...it was very helpful. I''m going go on those sites you ad mentioned and do some comparing. It'' nice to here what other people think
