Help- Not Square??? The princess cut engagement diamond that I purchased at BlueNile looks crooked, like the corner cuts are Not 90degree angles. Is this just the way it is with princess cuts or could the jewler have set the diamond wrong. The specs are 6.26mm X 6.12mm with a "very good" symmetry grade from GIA. It''s 1.47carat,vs2,H,VG-symm & VG-polish, 13.1degree crown angle, 65degree table, 72.5 degree depth. I paid $7,300. I don''t know what to de next...return it, get it appraised....Help!!

Sorry, I don't have pics....what do i do???

Call the vendor and let them know what you see. More than likely it is not the stone. These are set by hand and it is possible to be off a tad. I am sure they will make it right. Cindy

It is possible that the corners are not exactly 90 degrees. It could easily be the prongs are a bit crooked and the diamond is perfectly 90 degrees, but just looks off set for some reason.

Someone expert needs to see it. A photo could be misleading.

That happened to my PC engagement ring but it was due to the prongs being slighly different it made the stone look offset. It's prob the setting not the stone take it back and complain thats what i did and they fixed the setting. Now it is perfect. just be sure to check the corners because resetting they could chip them and try to hide it under a prong. PC diamond's corners are prone to that especially if you have a ex thin to thin girdle. good luck

"Thank You" for your feedback! I will go to an appraiser with the diamond & see what they say
