Hello,

I am looking at a diamond right now that specs:

GIA
Color:F
Cut/Polish/Symmetry: EX
Clarity-VVS2
Carat:1.36

Crown%-34.5%
Pavilion:41.2%
Culet:None
Depth:60.5%
Table:60%
Lower half:85%

I also added two pictures they sent me of IS/ASET.

My questions are:

Is this a good quality diamond and what should I expect to pay for it?

Thank you for any help you can give or any insight I may not have asked about.

It is not a diamond I would buy. It is a fairly good cut but you can do better. I use these parameters below as ideal cut diamonds often fall within these parameters. You still need the images, though. One other note, VVS is overkill. A VS1 stone is totally clean and you can barely find any inclusions with a 10x loupe. Many go to G color as well if they want to increase size. But even if you absolutely want F, I would expand the search to VS1 to give you more options.

Table: 54-58

Depth: 60-62.3

crown angle: 34.0-35.0

pavilion angle: 40.6-41.0

girdle: thin, medium, slightly thick (or combo of those)

Ah, so what is a good price for a diamond that meets your specifications? Online retailers is where I'm looking.

Well the price depends on where you are shopping and the level of cut quality you want within those parameters.

Or you could tell us your budget, and people might show you some stones.

I'm looking to spend around 13-14k, I've seen stones within your parameters for 11.5 so I think it is a decent budget.

GIA XXX stones of the same color and clarity won't vary widely just due to the narrowed down numbers I gave you. We just try to help people get the better end of the GIA Excellent cut range, because it is a wide range.

You can get a top of the line cut diamond like this for a little over $14k:

A nice GIA XXX (has a higher crown angle than I recommended, but it has the images to show that it does not have leakage):

Where would I find that particular diamond for a little over 14k? Or is that the wired price.

If you could please give advice on the images above along with these specs, I would be very grateful.
