Help Needed in choosing between these two.

Hello All,

I am new to this very informative forum. I just wanted to find out your expert opinion on which of these 2 do you thinks is the best.

1) Which one is best and why ?
2) Which would you not pick and why?
3) Good and bad about these diamonds?
4) Anything else i should know?

Depending on what your goals are, have you considered going with a Vs1 or Vs2 clarity? You've chosen a pretty high clarity which comes with a premium price but no real benefit since the lower category would also usually be eye-clean. If you're comfortable with a G color (since it was one of your options) you could also forgo the premium price for an F and either save money on your diamond with a VS2 G color, or go bigger in size while in the same budget.

Hello All,

I just got done with a phone consultation with the JA gemologist.

She said based on light performance both inside and when kept near a window the one below was the best. This also had more sparkle and was larger compared to others. For leakage all three were pretty close and was hard to differenciate. And 87382 has the best G color of all three.

Here are a few of my thoughts on the diamonds. Please keep in mind that I've learned a lot over the last few months, but I'm not an expert so maybe some other PSers can chime in as well. Assuming that the idealscopes are in the same order as the three diamonds you listed:

Diamond 87382
Great angles, great HCA score. Probably the best "G" because it has a medium fluorescence. I assume it isn't milky, otherwise the gemologist would have told you so. The medium flour probably makes it appear whiter, but are you okay with the slight bluish tint that may appear in the sun/under a black light, etc? I personally think it's cool but it's a personal preference, so it's just something to consider if you haven't already. The idealscope also looks good, i think the angle of the image might be off a bit since some arrows seem shorter than others, but it has excellent symmetry so im sure it's fine.

Diamond 107689
Angles are good as well but I don't like the ideascope. Part of the table has some white which to my understanding could represent light leakage.

Diamond 188692
I liked this idealscope the best but the HCA score makes me wonder if the combination of angles sparkle as much as the other two.

At the end of the day, we can analyze numbers a lot but the gemologist looking at it in person probably has the best say in all of it. Therefore, the angles for 87382 look good, the idealscope looks good, the gemologist recommended it over the other two, AND it appears the biggest! So that's what I would go with. I'm sure it's going to be a stunning diamond.

No problem, hope it helped. Just wondering... Is there some reason you wouldn't consider going down to a vs1 or vs2 and getting a great eye clean diamond in a bigger size?

And I'm from the US but my parents are Pakistani

nothin in specific i was just very clear right from start that i wanted a diamond with no inclusions. I feel like i will be satisfied if it was that way.

I totally see what you mean you can get bigger stone for the same price with a VS2. Infact i have moved down from a F to a IF to a VVS...lol

Haha okay, to each their own i'm a size girl so im willing to compromise a lot for size...just wanted to make sure you knew your options!
