Hello, I am trying to choose between these two stones. which of these 2 asschers is better looking- not just the specs but overall visually as an asscher? (Left=E 1.25 SI1 / Right= D 1.26 SI2 - left has med F)

I personally like the left one, just a personal preference really.

First, before anything else, have you asked if these are eyeclean? Because rarely are step cuts eyeclean at SI1 (though it can happen), but at SI2, it's a certainty you would see stuff. (which I may be seeing already)

the major inclusion on the 1.26 is a cloud/crystal under the table somewhat near the center that reflects a bit. I can slightyly detect it just by eye. The 1.25 has a lesser cloud/crystal inclusion and is located at the far edge of the table....so I am assuming you''d say the E 1.25 is more of an eyeclean stone....

additionally, the 1.25 has a larger surface area so it appears bigger. But it seems to have less of a step cut effect from the center out and wider windmills... from looking at other royal aschers and regular square cut emerald asschers they seem to look more like the one on the right 9the 1.26) am I correct in stating this? Is the 1.25 on the left not cut well??

Have you seen these in person, or are you just going by the pics?

As for cut, I'm no expert, though I know when I see one I like. To be honest, these pics are not very good, it's really hard to say. strm is the Asscher expert, I'm sure he'll be along tonight or tomorrow to address cut. But I would guess he's going to ask for better pics. And all the numbers/specs on it.

I hope that''s just schmutz in the photos? Of the two, I prefer the wider windmills of the E 1.25 on the left.

I prefer the look of the left one...but ditto what everyone else has said about eye cleanliness. I would actually avoid SI clarity in a step cut because of this. You could get a similarly priced stone by going down in color.

The left one for sure...I agree with everyone else. It just stands out more.

What is the table size?
Can you get better pictures?

Sorry about the picture quality... I have seen them in person. I took this picture actually...I am posting another picture. I am hoping it helps. In this picture it is the center 2 in the same order. I was also looking at the two stones on the side but favored the other 2... Here are the rest of the specs. Also to 2 stones are almost the same price one is 200$ less.

Right stone specs:
E 1.25
depth: 65.7%/66%
VG VG
Medium Fluorescence
measurements: 6.37x6.12x4.02
ratio: 1.04

Left Stone Specs
D 1.26
depth: 67.3%/65%
VG VG
No Fluorescence
measurements: 5.95 x 5.87 x 3.95
ratio 1.01
ture
the third one pictured I was looking at with them was the one on far left and additional picture. I liked this one less because the windmills seemed less appealing and didn''t have a clean taper
specs are as follows:

F 1.21 SI1
depth 64.6%/63%
EX VG
No Fluorescence
measurements: 6.13x6.05x3.91
ratio 1.01

Honestly, I have looked at a bunch of stones in my price range and to get a stone btwn 1.15-1.30 I seem to have to put up with the SI1 which doesn''t bother me incredibly.....There''s always a trade off!

correction***I think the third one I provided specs for is the far right...
the other one pictured is a 1.24 E SI1 61.0% 68% Ex/VG 5.93x5.91x4.02 and a 1.00 ratio

E 1.25 would likely be my pick.
Since you are looking at them in person view them in as many different lighting conditions as you can and go with the one you like best.

Is the medium fluorescence on the 1.25 ok?

One more question... Would you say these are good stones to choose from or should I keep loooking??
