HELP! I need to reset my engagement ring. It has a tiny chip in the center stone. My current setting is a round stone in 4 prong with a baguette on each side in platinum. I always loved the settings with the tiny stones around the center diamond, but our jeweler kept talking us out of it and I still love it 8 years later. I want to protect my diamond and need a custom jeweler to get the look I really want. I need help. Does anyone recommend someone in the LA area I can also meet with?

23rd St Jewelers
Victor Canera
Ricardo Basta

All in LA. All reputable. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

I just recently heard about Maytal Hannah and saw on this site her blue sapphire ring. It's amazing. Has anyone worked with her? I was going to try a couple people.

I have worked with her- she made my e-ring. Too lazy to post pics now but I will come back and do it. She was amazing- from start to finish. I live overseas in the UK and she made my ring from here, we never met, just skyped and swapped emails. I wanted a Novo style ring which I think is one of her trademark looks. She used to work at Tiffany's and actually her design is MUCH nicer than Tiffany's. There's less metal in it and it is much more delicate looking. I absolutely love it and have received a million compliments on it. I highly recommend Maytal she's really lovely!

David Klauss is a name that comes up a lot for custom work in LA. He is old school and doesn't have a website but you can google for his number. His prices are very competitive. Btw, it sounds like your looking for a "halo setting".

I've seen VC's work in person (not a lucky owner though *sadface*) and I can tell you it was impeccable. He's pricey, but worth it if you're an attention to detail person.

Victor Canera did my wedding band and his work is superb!

Did you mean David Klass? I have worked with him and have been very happy. He is out of town until the 2nd week of March. I have another project that will have to wait until he returns.

Stacey, I don't have any more jewelers to recommend, as those I've heard about are already listed. But, I think it's interesting that your LA area jeweler talked you out of a halo setting, as mine did, too. Can I ask you, does this jeweler's name/store happen to begin with an M? (I don't want to name him, as he did a beautiful job with my setting, but I've on and off regretted not going with the halo ever since.)

The ring is stunning. I met with her and she is redoing my ring. So excited. I should have it in the next month. She is also doing my push present for my son. CAN'T WAIT!

No, it began with a J and was downtown.
