We got a new kitty friend today from the pound. He and three others were found abandoned outside and as a result he is semi-feral but I'm hoping he comes around to be a companion for our existing cat, Carly. She has been crying at night ever since we put Murphy to sleep despite all or efforts, she still cries.

This is the only pic I've been able to get so far, currently he is hiding in my son's room since we have to keep him apart from our other animals until he goes to the vet. If anyone has tips on taming a semi-feral kitten, I'm all ears!

Also, he needs a name, preferably something that ends in a "y"

Thanks everyone!

How cute is he??? Looks like a Sammy to me!

Hi- the first thing that comes to mind is Holloway (for HCA). Looks like he has great markings- very handsome indeed!

I hope he makes a great companion for your cat Carly :)

Awwwww! Sweetie pie!
I'm so glad you got a kitty from the pound!
I hope he becomes comfortable in your house real soon.
I like dignified names for animals, not silly ones like Pookie or BooBoo.
What about Shelby, Aubrey, Bradley......

Such a pretty cat! My daughter rescued a semi feral kitten. I babysat him in the bathroom one day, he was just so scared and wouldn’t move, now he is the king of the apartment!
Names.... Cody, Kobe, or Calvin!

Thanks for the name suggestions @stracci2000, @tyty333, @facetgirl, @babs23r

babs, your daughter's cat looks just like a cat we had! So pretty! I'm glad to hear he came around. My eleven year old is very excited, I have to keep reminding him to leave the kitten alone so he can get used to his new environment. The worst though? DH, he will not leave the cat alone and tried coaxing him out with a trail of food lol!

Maybe you could name him for a special place that you all like.
A park, landmark, historical place, etc.
A friend of mine named his dog DuPont, after visiting
the DuPont Mansion in KY.
What about your favorite artist? Author?
We once had a cat named Vincent, after Vincent Van Gogh.

Let us know the name of your beautiful new cat! Your husband sounds like mine..... a sucker for those fur babies!!!!:appl:

Carly and she is adorable.
DK

@dk168, you know what's funny is our girl cat's name is Carly, this one is a boy.

My elev year old wants to name him Phil, we are still deciding :read:

Oops, sorry, I misread and thought the new kitty is a girl! :rolleyes2:
How about Arnie, Bertie or Duckie?
DK :))

He also looks like an Oliver, or Ollie to me!
When’s the naming ceremony?!!!!

@Calliecake, I like Charlie, cute name

@babs23r, Oliver reminds me of the Disney movie of the same name. We keep tossing around names but nothing has stuck so far, DH was keen on Dexter and my older son still likes Phil lol! He will have to get a name today I would think since he will be going to the vet. I will update once he has an identity!

So we think he has a name......Dexter!

Dexter and Carly, not sure how well those two names go together but it's better than Phil (All I could think of is Phil Rizzuto and those Money Store commercials)

Welcome Dexter! Sweet kitty!!!!!!
:rolleyes2::appl:

Dexter is a great name. I know a teacup Yorkie named Dexter!
Requesting more photos!

So adorable! I hope Dexter adapts to his new home quickly.

DH took this one yesterday :kiss2:

Awww! I love the two-toned nose! This kitty is sooooo lucky to be in your house, Stephanie! I know he'll be treated like a prince!

Thanks @stracci2000, if he can get used to the dogs I think we'll be good! The 65lb huge ox of a dog we have is extremely curious and Dexter is having none of those shenanigans!

Dexter is a great name. Enjoy your new fur baby!!
