hi everyone again!

you gave me helpful feedback and i have another radiant set of numbers to give you. i am back just to see if, by the numbers, any one of these seems better than the other:

diamond 1:

7.64x7.27x5.06
2.5 ct
G
VS1
Polish: very good
Symmetry: very good
Depth: 69.6
Table: 68
culet: none
girdle: extremely thin-medium
flourescence: faint

diamond 2:

7.55x7.53x4.95
2.3 ct
G
VS2
Polish: excellent
Symmetry: very good
Depth: 65.7
Table: 66
culet: none
gridle: slightly thick - thick
flourescence: none

the 2.5 really doesn''t look any bigger than the 2.3. but we love it more! it seems to have better light performance. I was concerned with the faint flourescence, but other posts of PS said a faint rating is of no concern. i am also concerned that the very thin girdle may be more prone to chipping, is that something to be worried about? also, what sorts of price per carat do you think i should be getting?

any other information is more than welcome! thanks again!

I know nothing about pricing of radiants, but I do think it is good you have seen them and know which one looks better to you. One is rectangular and the other is almost square, so that would be a factor of personal preference.

I would only consider diamond #1 if you are setting it in a halo. An extremely thin area on a girdle is asking for trouble (as in chipping) unless the girdle is protected.

An independant appraiser can give you more info on seeing the diamond as to the extremely thin part, that would be my recommendation should you want to pursue this stone. That way you will be able to make an informed decision whether this diamond may have durability issues, or could be a suitable stone for your intended use. Make the sale final on the diamond checking out.

As to the numbers, you have probably heard that you can't judge a radiant in this way, you need to see at least photos or to evaluate them in person. It sounds as if this is what you have done, and also that you have a clear preference. So that may be the diamond to seriously consider, you have to trust your eyes at some point, and as you say " we love it", I take it that as a couple you think the stone is beautiful, that is as it should be! I would make the sale final on having the diamond check out with an independant appraiser.

As to prices, if this diamond is with a jewellery store, their prices can often be higher than online vendors. You can use the Pricescope your Diamond tool above to get prices of similar, but bear in mind they may have a lower price.

Here is a tool you can use to find appraisers in your area.
