I have found this diamond available measuring 9.1 x5.7 x 2.4, 1 Ct, with a depth of 43 and a table of 59. This diamond is significantly cheaper than a well cut diamond of course. For a well cut diamond of the same price, I could get maybe a 0.2 - 0.3 Ct diamond with same color and clarity. Do you think this would be a good buy for an engagement ring?

what is your budget?

and the answer is NO do not even consider it for an Ering, unless she said:

I HAVE TO HAVE 1 Ct or I wont marry you, in which case, well, then maybe dont marry her

Or I suppose there could be some sortof cut she was particularly keen on that looks like that but...I dont think so...or perhaps you could get this one recut? there isnt really enough info. Can we get alot more, I am really confused by the numbers you gave, can you be more specific and label each measurement with units, and give angles and tell us how you know those dimensions, what the color and clarity is and who told you that it was that color and clarity, and...whatever other info you have. I really dont know what to think about it based on those numbers, except...

a well designed ring can make a .2-.3ct diamond ring look breathtakingly gorgeous. Much more than, say, wearing a piece of gravel in a solitaire setting? which is bassically what I imagine when looking at the above specs. but anyway, lets see a budget so we can help out!

what shape stone are you talking about?

yea really, the first two dimensions kind of look like a marquies? but the depth of 43 is just very confusing, and then it is priced similarly to .2-.3cts of an ideal cut? I am at a total loss

Hi sorry, this is an oval cut, light pink natural fancy diamond. I got that information from the GIA report, the dimensions are 9.1mm x5.7mm x 2.4mm thick and 43% for depth and 59% table. It is VS2. No other measurements provided, cost around $7500. My budget is up to 15000 but I couldn''t find anything I liked within that range.
