My jewelry vocabulary is abysmal and I need some help describing the differences between these shanks. Thanks!

Klass does beautiful floral-inspired solitaires. Platinum petals!

P.S. I love the top Vatche. Cathedral but not set too high. 6 prong elegance.

Thanks, that's quite helpful. Would you say that the top photo is a cross between a flat and a half round then?

I think both the Vatche's have half-round shanks, though the shapes differ slightly.

Also if you have a certain one in mind and are trying to explain it to your jeweler, I would just send them the picture - sometimes your description of something doesn't match with theirs, so I find pictures are really the best tool of communicating ideas!
