I am trying to get a clear understanding in my own mind of how these angles are actually going to translate into a diamond. specs:

ct. size: 1
cut/polish/symmetry: GIA VG/VG/VG
Depth% 61.6
Table% 56
Crown: 35
Pav: 40.2
Girdle: med-slightly thick
Star: 55
Lower: 80

Now on HCA it comes a bit more to the right which I understand is more fiery than brilliance, but what does being down low in the "old person diamonds" mean? Thanks!

It means that it might have some obstruction issue, meaning the stone might darken if viewed closely. Old person usually are far-sighted, less able to focus on near things than young person thus will not view the stone closely so this flaw is not likely to be noticed by them.

Obstruction is basically an effect where a diamond with shallow proportions or a shallow pavilion will darken if the viewer bends over the diamond to admire it. This is because the viewer''s head/body literally obstructs the light to the diamond causing it to go dark. The term " older person''s stone" comes from the creator of the HCA''s observations that certain diamonds can look better to the more mature viewer due to age related vision changes. However this is not a hard and fast rule and is a suggestion only based on these studies.
