Help, I need some ideas!
30.gif

I sold back all the unworn yellow gold I had, and the sterling too so now I''ve got money enough to get a really nice piece of jewelry. I''ll list what I already have so the ideas can add to my limited collection. It has to be a lifetime piece that is not trendy and can be worn everyday comfortably.

I don''t have a diamond tennis bracelet and hesitate because of those that have fallen out of love with one but I have thought of an eternity style bangle maybe. I do have lots of loose diamonds ranging in sizes from a point to 75points, several are 20 pointers. These may become a DBTY style bracelet down the road.

Diamond studs 1.04ctw J si1 platinum
ering/wr 3 eternity rings w/ marguise 5.25 ctw, platinum
DBTY 1ct platinum, 10pts each
Tahitian pearls tin cup style 18k wg 17inches
Tahitian pearl strand off rounds 15.5inches, matching dangle earrings
22x11 white sapphire (marquise) off/on consider a LM ring
Lots of pearls, all shapes, colors, sizes (inlaws frequent the pearl areas in China)
loose stones of various kinds

It looks like I could use a right hand ring. Maybe find me a diamond and a simple setting, something that could be traded up later would work too.
Thanks a bunch and I''m excited to see what everyone comes up with!

IF it were me (I wish!) I''d look at Erica''s stuff. She''s got beautiful pieces that I would love to look at forever! Looks like a vintage cut would be a good addition to your collection.

There are several rings in your price range, you could possibly get 2 items.

I''m holding off getting something along this line because of the giant white sapphire I have, it''s approx 11cts. I think about adding orange sidestones in a simple Leon Mege ring. Then again I wonder if James Meyer could do something with it.

good grief - every time i see that ring i get an odd feeling in the pit of my stomach! that ring is insanely gorgeous....

cnspotts - i''m not quite following your list - is that the things you''d like, or the things you already have that you want to flesh out? if that''s the list of things you already have, tho, a gemstone might be nice, as maisie suggested...

Whitby, So glad that you''ve come back to PS and thank you for the compliment on my rings.

Sorry for the confusion, the list is what I have after selling off my odds and ends. My husband is particularly attracted to emeralds but I''m not sure I''d want that for a ring intended to be worn often. I would like a cabachon emerald surrounded by diamonds for a ring that is "special" if that helps. I do have that giant white sapphire for an eventual project just not yet and not with these funds. ;)

I''m no help, but I just wanted to say I wish I had this "problem" .. you''re a lucky lady!

LF, awww thank you. Honestly I had no idea that I''d have such a large sum of cash after "selling" back my old unworn jewelry. It was stuff that collected over the years that was just sitting in the safe! A complete surprise!
