I would like to say that I learned lots from this forum and am very grateful for it!

I've been with my girlfriend for 10 years and am finally proposing. I want to get her the best possible diamond I can afford. I know that she would be happy with anything, but I still want to give her something nice. After reading these forums, I decided to buy a solitaire in platinum with the following diamond:

0.9 carats, F VS2
Triple Ex GIA
Total Depth %: 61.9
Table Size %: 54
Crown height %: 16.1
Crown angle : 35.2
Pavillion depth %: 43.0
Pavillion angle : 40.7

I would like some input on this diamond. Thank you for your help!

Spread or diameter for weight Very Good (TC1987 comment: Most stones get VG for spread, not Excellent, so that's okay.)

You want a score of 2 or less, so the stone aces the first-pass evaluation. And it falls within both AGS 0 and GIA excellent, per the HCA tool.

Table size is small, crown angle is steep enough, so that ought to make fire.
Graded by GIA, so the color & clarity ought to be accurate. Just verify that it's eyeclean enough from the side or at an angle, or at whatever distance you are wanting it eyeclean at, so you know that it meets YOUR clarity standard.

Idealscope and ASET images would be next. If the diamond looks good there, put on hold or reserve before you post a link to it here. Lurkers sometimes buy things out from under people, if it's not on hold.

TC1987 thank you for the analysis. What do you mean by make fire because the table is small and crown angle is steep? The stone is eye-clean, so I am very happy about that!

Now I just have to figure out the proposal
