I have been on a vicious search for about 6-7 months and I can't find anything more suitable than this ring: http://www.zales.com/product/index.jsp?productId=13201073

It's absolutely what she wants. Twist shank, halo with a round brilliant, white gold, and a blue surprise stone underneath.

However, I'm in Canada and can't get from Zales, and $17K is a little too rich for my blood.

My budget is about $10K max. Ideally I would like a stone from 1.25-1.5 carat...obviously the bigger I can afford the better. I want a very good cut or higher, anything above I colour, and I'm okay with an SI clarity.

I was chatting with James Allen about doing a custom one inspired by this Vera Wang ring - but curious if anyone can help me find this without going custom - and within my budget?

Thank you!

We've had others here looking for similar settings as well. Your closest bet without going custom is Gabriel and Co. Both Good Old Gold and ID Jewelry carry the brand, and you may have a jeweler in your area who does.

If these don't work, you can get beautiful custom work at reasonable prices from David Klass and Caysie van Bebber.

I advise you to stick with GIA Excellent cut only, and post specs and idealscope images on Rocky Talky before buying a stone. If you buy a Gabriel setting that can have a sapphire added, then you'd want to buy a diamond at the same jeweler. But if you go custom, you can buy the diamond from any vendor and then send it to the ring maker.

I've seen Sylvie in person and they are lovely in person. Very delicate. I have no idea how they wear though.

Thanks Gypsy! I'll do some more investigating.

OP, good luck finding a setting. :)

I think I saw some Vera Wang's at People's, if you want to try to see it in person.

I'd go with a non-Zales, non-People's ring though.
